Get ready Allen Mexican food enthusiasts; the best Mexican restaurant in Plano is bringing its authentic cuisine to your backyard. Mexican Bar Company has filed permits to open a new Collin County location, and it’s set to open later this year.
The restaurant will be greeting guests in a spacious storefront located at 790 Waverly Drive. Mexican Bar Company owner Brian Dunne kindly filled What Now Dallas in on the details pertaining to the new location. The storefront will have around 10,000 square feet of interior space and a 2,100 square foot patio overlooking a 2-acre pond, creating a gorgeous scenic experience for those who prefer their meals al fresco.
Dunne and his team are ensuring that those who would rather enjoy their visit indoors are given just as delightful an experience. He describes the interior as having a “bar area with the biggest bar in Allen and plenty of high-top tables, a large dining room with beautiful views of the pond and surrounding greenery, and a family dining area that seats up to 44 people with a 588 square foot kids play area, so parents can enjoy their evening while their kids play with their peers.”
Mexican Bar Company’s Allen location will also feature a private dining space with 2 patios that can accommodate as many as 122 visitors. A smaller 276 square foot private dining room called the Miami Cabana is located on the pond. The Miami Cabana can fit up to 12 guests, making it perfect for a smaller event or a private family dinner.
Allen foodies will be able to enjoy Mexican Bar Company’s cuisine before the year is out; the website states that the new location will be opening this summer.
Mexican Bar Company has been a heavy hitter in the DFW dining scene since its debut in 2018. The restaurant has received wide acclaim, earning the title of “Best of Plano” and “Best of Dallas” multiple years. The eatery owes its success in part to its commitment to offering “the full scope of Mexican cuisine; handmade corn tortilla tacos, freshly prepared ceviches, guacamoles, salsas, and an exceptional selection of regional dishes. Mexican Bar Company stays true to the classic delicacies of Mexico and its legendary food markets.”
The expansive menu has something for everyone, including vegan options alongside seafood, chicken, and meat dishes.
Allen foodies can rest assured that Dunne and his team are bringing the same passion to the new location that they’ve poured into Plano’s Mexican Bar Company. Dunne explains: “We are super excited. We will be open for lunch, Saturday and Sunday brunch and dinner. We overlook the 2-acre pond that is within a 51-acre walking park directly down the middle of the 261-acre development. Billingsley knows how to develop a community, and we can’t wait to open our doors for the World Cup this Summer.”
