If you loved the food, music, beer list, and general atmosphere of The Foundry, West Dallas’ entertainment venue with Chicken Scratch restaurant attached, you weren’t the only one. And if you’ve been missing the good vibes and great inside/outside space, you won’t have to for much longer.

Earlier today, The Foundry announced plans to reopen under new management. And who has taken over the space? None other than a community member (okay, yes, also a restaurateur) who appreciated the place for what it was.

“We are STOKED to announce that The Foundry / Chicken Scratch is currently being re-imagined and will soon reopen under new management and new ownership early this fall!” reads the Facebook announcement. “Like many in the community, Shane Spillers loved this place before it closed and can’t wait to throw the doors back open after a little refresh of the space!” The announcement, which asks local fans of the venue to share what they love best about it, has over 100 comments.

Spillers told Dallas Culture Map he and his team are in the process of sprucing up the place. They will also update the menu, although never fear, fried chicken will remain a staple. Best yet, Spillers will likely add breakfast to the menu, so you can enjoy The Foundry any day of the week. The venue plans to reopen by the end of September.
