A brand-new restaurant concept is preparing to show DFW foodies that you don’t need a knife and a fork to enjoy a delicious and memorable dining experience. Shorty’s Coneys & Cocktails is bringing high-quality street-style food with a touch of refinement to McKinney next month, reports CultureMap Dallas.
Shorty’s is bringing the hot dogs implicit in the name alongside burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and a full bar to a 1,941 square foot space at 109 N Kentucky Street. The eatery will serve a dual purpose, functioning as a fun, family-friendly establishment during daytime hours and becoming a premiere cocktail bar and date-night destination once the sun goes down.
Owner Bryan McVay brings a wealth of hospitality experience to the venture, and generously made some time to speak to What Now Dallas about the position Shorty’s will fill in the DFW culinary scene. “Shorty’s will be a place where guests gather for a great meal, but stick around to hear and share stories of the rich history of Downtown McKinney.” he explains.
The Shorty’s menu will, of course, emphasise the Coney Island hot dog, which McVay describes as a “chefed-up” interpretation. Customers will also be able to choose from a variety of smashburgers, a Philly cheesesteak, and a chicken ranch sandwich, among other delectable dishes.
McKinney foodies won’t have to wait much longer to sample Shorty’s fare; McVay states that he and his team aim to have the restaurant open and operational by mid-March.
