Creating a delicious and satisfying meal brings a sense of pride and accomplishment alongside a full and satisfied stomach. Unfortunately, many of us are daunted by the prospect of crafting elaborate dishes-selecting and preparing the ingredients, adding the right proportions, and heating appropriately can all be overwhelming. However even the most culinarily challenged DFW diners will soon be able to embrace their inner chefs with an assist from an adventurous chain. DIY teppanyaki concept Pepper Lunch has teamed up with local entrepreneur Phil Guo to introduce the restaurant to the region.
Guo is signed on to open multiple storefronts across the DFW over the next several years. A location in Frisco is already actively in the works, but Guo tells What Now Dallas that he has other neighborhoods in his sights, saying: “We’ve signed a development deal for 5 locations over 3 years, including Carrollton, Plano, Prosper, and McKinney.”
Leases for these locations have not yet been announced.
Pepper Lunch made its initial, strong impression on Guo when he visited Hong Kong 13 years ago. He was inspired to bring the unique dining experience back to Dallas, certain the market didn’t have anything akin to it.
And what, precisely, sets Pepper Lunch apart from other Japanese restaurants? Guo describes the eatery as “a ‘sizzle-it-yourself’ Japanese dining concept. Guests are served premium ingredients on a patented iron plate that lets them cook and season their meal just the way they like it — right at the table. It’s fast, high-quality, and a whole lot of fun.”
Visitors can look forward to creating superior curry, pasta, and rice dishes. While this may sound like an expensive night out, a press release regarding the expansion states that Pepper Lunch is committed to “serving premium meals for under $20 in less than 20 minutes”.
Guo, for his part, is looking forward to bringing the chain to the Lone Star State and believes that the possibilities are endless. He states: “Frisco is just the beginning — our long-term goal is to bring Pepper Lunch across all of Texas.”
