Fast-Casual Favorite Velvet Taco Debuts in Sugar Land
Branding itself as ‘tacos without borders,’ Velvet Taco brings adventurous flavors to a fast-casual setting. The eatery breaks free from the everyday basics and offers a Weekly Taco Feature (WTF) program. The program introduces 52 globally inspired tacos annually, rotating one new feature each week.
Past features have included unconventional ingredients like alligator, mako shark, and bold fusion flavors. Velvet Taco gives tacos a new spin with a menu that pushes the boundaries of international flavors, using fresh ingredients.
From slow-roasting its own chicken and corn to crafting scratch-made dishes, the restaurant focuses on quality. It also offers margaritas with a generous splash of booze.
Located at 2330 Hwy 6, the new Velvet Taco marks the brand’s debut in Sugar Land. Some of its menu highlights include Mexi‑Cali Shrimp, Korean Fried Rice Taco, Spicy Tikka Chicken and Chicken & Waffle.
Celebratory Offers and Perks
To celebrate the opening, Velvet Taco is rolling out a week of promotions and giveaways. On September 15, the restaurant gives free Velvet Taco hats to its first 50 customers. The eatery also offers loyalty perks to its guests.
Guests who sign up for The Velvet Room loyalty program during opening week and make a purchase will get a free taco reward to enjoy on their next visit. The Peach & Burrata Taco will be available through September 16 as part of the Weekly Taco Feature program.
The Crab Cake Taco will follow from September 17–23. From its rotating weekly taco features to scratch-made ingredients, Velvet Taco promises something exciting and delicious for every visit.
