Scooter’s Coffee, the Omaha, Nebraska-founded coffee franchise chain, announced more growth plans for the Lone Star State earlier this month.

Two new drive-thru locations are in the works for the Johnson/Tarrant County cities of Cleburne and Burleson, respectively. The Cleburne coffee shop is coming to 2102 N Main St and is expected to open in late spring, early summer of this year.

An exact location has not yet been announced for the Burleson coffee shop, but it is expected to open by fall 2022.

Scooter’s Coffee is sure to be a welcome addition to Cleburne as the town has only had one Starbucks for years. Apart from Mug On the Square and a few local cafes and restaurants, there’s not much else when it comes to getting a good cup of joe.

Local father-son duo Ty and Taylor Fichtner, who signed a two-unit agreement, are behind the locations. Ty, who has worked for Scooter’s Coffee’s corporate office for nearly two years, expressed excitement about bringing the brand to their long-time hometown area.

“My firsthand experience working for Scooter’s Coffee has truly transformed my view of what a business should be,” he said. “The core values, mission statement and brand promise resonates with me on all levels. Scooter’s Coffee has a tried-and-true model in place to withstand any trying situation including the global pandemic. On top of the continued success, the fact that we can be a part of such a wonderful franchise is encouraging as we work to build a legacy for our family.”

Taylor echoed his father’s excitement, saying, “We are thrilled to be opening our own Scooter’s Coffee locations. I believe we can create memorable experiences for the surrounding communities and provide an amazing product to those we aim to serve.”

Founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles, Scooter’s Coffee roasts only the finest coffee beans in the world at its headquarters in Omaha. Its menu includes artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and its signature “Caramelicious” drink. The brand recently surpassed its 400-location mark.

“Scooter’s Coffee is a great addition to the Cleburne and Burleson communities,” Kelly Crummer, Scooter’s Coffee Senior Director of Franchise Recruitment, said in a press release. “The word has spread about Scooter’s Coffee and the excitement is building, and we’re thrilled to have such ardent supporters of local business leading our expansion into this area.”
