Locations for OMG Tacos and a pho concept from the Austin area, Simply Pho House, are in the works for Celina.
Both restaurant concepts will open in a building at 605 S Preston Rd. in Celina. Tony Nguyen, owner of OMG Tacos and the new Simply Pho House location, told What Now Dallas they are waiting on the building to be completed and will then move forward with the interior finish out. He hopes that both concepts will open before the end of 2023. Tony said Celina is growing, so they invested in the property to bring the concepts there, ultimately adding more food options for area residents.
Tony and several partners—Calvin Nguyen, Holly Nguyen, Tommy Nguyen, and Tony’s wife, Mary Wong—operate the OMG Tacos location. They have other OMG Tacos restaurants in Richardson and in The Colony.
The menu features a variety of taco options from chicken and steak to fish and barbacoa. Tacos are served with your choice of corn or flour tortilla and are topped with fresh onions and cilantro or other toppings. You can also grab burritos, quesadillas, loaded fries or nachos, rice bowls, and tortas.
Simply Pho House is a family-owned restaurant that offers Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese cuisine. Tony’s uncle Sonny Tran and aunt Loan Huynh own three locations in Central Texas—Bee Cave, Marble Falls, and Dripping Springs.
“We’re going to be using their concept and menu items.” Tony will operate Simply Pho House with his wife, Mary. The Simply Pho House menu includes pho, fried rice, stir fried noodles, and Banh Mi—a Vietnamese sandwich—among other options.
“We cook everything fresh. Everything is made in-house from scratch,” Tony said. “We’re just very happy to have the chance to bring these concepts up there.”
