After making its auspicious Texas debut in Fort Worth earlier this year, a growing chain focused on the most important meal of the day is getting ready to further crack into the DFW dining scene. Urban Egg will be serving Texas a second helping of breakfast favorites in its new Plano location in the relatively near future, reports Community Impact.
The restaurant will be helping locals start their days right in a 3,100 square foot storefront located at 2408 Preston Road, Suite 704. Paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows that work began on the renovation in late July and is set to wrap by November 14 of this year. While this does not guarantee an opening timeline, it does suggest that Urban Egg will be ready for customers by late 2025 or early 2026.
Urban Egg opened its first location in 2012. The restaurant is riding the current wave of daytime eateries, which are enjoying a strong cultural moment right now. The company website announces its ethos and intentions, saying: “Love gourmet pancakes? We’ve got ’em. Eggs Benedict more your style? You’re in luck. Heard we have amazing morning cocktails? Yes, it’s true. And they’re awesome. We’re bringing our A-game to the dining scene. You bring your best appetite.”
The menu features an impressive selection of breakfast fare; guests will be able to choose from a range of omelets, egg dishes, and pancakes. Urban Egg features a drink menu full of boozy breakfast cocktails for the over-21 crowd. The restaurant also serves lunch for visitors not feeling breakfast foods.
