January will be Butterfly Cakery‘s last month at 3309 N US 75-Central Expy 1000 in suite 340. The designer cake bakery will close its doors at Ruisseau Village to relocate in Plano to 1201 E Spring Creek Pkwy in suite 100. The space was previously home to a Great Harvest Bread Company bakery.
Butterfly Cakery is expected to reopen at its new location in February 2022.
Owner Brittany Ducray told The Dallas Morning News that guests have a hard time finding the shop at its current space which is located on the north side of the shopping center.
“We just don’t have good visibility,” Ducray said. “But the new place faces a Starbucks line and is next to a Five Guys, which is always busy.”
Ducray started Butterfly Cakery out of her home eight years ago. She then upgraded to a commercial kitchen before opening a storefront in 2018.
Focusing on detailed execution, exceptional design services and deliciously quality baked goods, the cake bakery has been featured on The Knot, Style Me Pretty and Martha Stewart. Along with making customized cakes, Butterfly Cakery offers several signature cakes that can be ready within 24 hours. Cake flavors include Almond, Champagne, Classic White, Devil’s Chocolate and Vanilla Bean.
Other desserts like cupcakes, brownie squares, cookies, cake pops and macarons are also offered.
Butterfly Cakery on E Spring Creek Pkwy will have a larger area with seating, as well as a patio.
Longtime German restaurant, Bavarian Grill, is also relocating from Ruisseau Village to a new independent location at 3425 Premier Dr. Owner Juergen Mahneke was hoping to have the move complete by the beginning of this month but the building wasn’t ready in time.
“It seems our new building won’t be quite ready for us to move into within the next few weeks, so while we may take our time getting it ready for everyone, we will continue running at our current location, 221 W Parker Rd during our normal days and hours for the months of November and December,” a message posted to Facebook read.
