Located at 1012 S Main St in Fort Worth, Brix Barbecue is set to close after eight years of serving the community. Brix Barbecue’s owner, Trevor Sales, made the sudden announcement through Instagram. However, he did not cite a definite reason as to why the BBQ staple would close its doors. Trevor started the BBQ facility first in his backyard in 2017 and then did fun things such as a pop-up before ultimately turning it into a brick-and-mortar establishment in Fort Worth.

The BBQ Place Invites Patrons for the Last Three Weeks

While Brix Barbecue prepares to wrap up food operations by August 17, it has invited patrons across Fort Worth for the last three weeks. In the farewell post, Trevor shared that they will be serving special items. Visitors can enjoy the Funkytown Hot Chicken Sandwich for starters throughout the coming weekend. More specialty items are expected in the coming weeks as the team wraps up service.

Future Plan

Citing the changing restaurant landscape, Brix Barbecue’s owner said that they will be moving on from the BBQ concept for now. As cooking is still his love, he will continue working on his private dining concept, Tallow.

Trevor hinted that Brix Barbecue’s closure on August 17 could be a permanent one. He plans to sell or lease the Fort Worth-based restaurant space to an aspiring restaurateur.

Locals still have time to enjoy Brix’s smoked meats before the restaurant closes.
