DFW diners, get ready for a sultry new take on Mexican cuisine. A team of seasoned restauranteers is reimagining Mexican fare at Beverly’s Downtown, a fresh concept coming to Fort Worth later this year, reports local media outlet Fort Worth Magazine.

The latest restaurant from Jeff Payne and Jason Cross will be breathing new life into a historic space at 901 Houston Street. Beverly’s Downtown will occupy 7,000 square feet of the Hogan Building. The eatery will be a covert hideaway, a subterranean space that adds an element of mystery and romance to Fort Worth date nights.

Payne explains the vision for Beverly’s, saying “We’re not trying to replicate the traditional Mexican restaurant experience. Instead, we’re moving the needle forward while respecting the roots of the cuisine — creating something unique, sexy, familiar, and entirely new.”

Local foodies will be able to experience Beverly’s distinctive approach to Mexican fare in winter or fall of this year.

The restaurant’s menu will draw from the full scope of Mexican cuisine; the tortillas will be made from heirloom flour and corn and will be served warm. Beverly’s intends to help reframe the way locals think about Mexican food.
