Located in the urban metro area of Denver, Castle Rock has emerged as a fast-growing community in Colorado. With a population of over 81,415, Costco has found the city’s potential. Costco has announced its plan to set up its location here by 2027.

Speculations about the retail giant opening its store in the West of Interstate 25 – Dawson Trails development are high. Additionally, people are expecting that this Costco outlet will also have a 16-pump gas station.

Littleton Makes Way For Costco

The second spot for Costco is planned for growing in the Metro Denver-Aurora area. With a population of more than 40,000, Littleton has surfaced as a potential location for the retail giant. It is expected that the location for this Colorado City store will be 700 W. Mineral Avenue.

The residents believe that Costco will lay the foundation for its outlet here after demolishing the existing office building site. Along with the redevelopment, the grocery chain will also add new traffic lights and build walking and bike paths all around the store. Under the same project, 100 trees will also be planted.

New Openings and Future Plan

Although Costco has announced its new store launches for the Metro Denver area, this is not the first time. Before Littleton and Castle Rock, western Colorado’s most populous city was almost finalized for setting up a Costco store. But things slipped out of hand for Mesa County.

Initially planned for the Grand Junction location, the county missed its chance to become the first to get a Costco store in 2024. Things happened at the last minute for Mesa County as the grocery chain cited ‘poor soil conditions and rising construction costs’ as hindrances to the project.

However, Costco will still show interest in Grand Junction if everything falls into place financially.

While the Grand Junction plan could not achieve fruitful results, different Colorado cities are still hot spots for retail giants like Costco. As the brand grows across Metro Denver areas, the demand for the grocery chain is set to rise, resulting in an enhanced retail scene.
