The iconic Blake Street Tavern, which closed its doors in 2023, is set to be revived under new ownership, according to the Denver Post. Jeff and Ashley Moerke, founders of Harper and Hudson Hospitality Group, have purchased the business and will reopen its doors after making some readjustments.
Renamed The Tavern on Blake Street, the establishment is set to reopen on April 4, in time for the Colorado Rockies’ opening home game. At 2301 Blake St, the property is just one block from the baseball stadium.
Westword reports that the venue will have a lively sports bar atmosphere with a range of new offerings, including live music, karaoke, trivia nights, and sports watch parties. Many of the old staff members are coming back, and further hiring is ongoing.
The Moerkes have a rich history of hospitality ventures, Aspen Daily News details. They run Il Poggio, an Italian restaurant in Snowmass Village; Aspen Country, a dining concept that shares a space with their clothing store Harper + Hudson; and a Tavern location in Snowmass, and they are working on opening a Tavern in Las Vegas as well.
