The incoming music venue, Notes, will open at the former Buttermilk Breakfast & Burgers at 13141 Bass Pro Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80921, later this year. BB&B closed in late July when Owner J.W. Roth made the decision to begin focusing more heavily on the music aspect of his businesses, hoping eventually to become an “almost 100% music-centric company.”
Buttermilk Breakfast & Burgers, originally named Buttermilk, opened in 2020 with the intention of filling a gap in the north-side market. Initially, the restaurant served only breakfast foods before expanding its menu to offer burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, and more (at which point the name was altered).
Roth purchased the building that would house BB&B on a whim after receiving a good deal on the space that resides near his two other venues, Brothers Smokehouse & Tavern and Boot Barn Hall, another live-music venue.
“Buttermilk was an outlier for us. I bought that property simply because it was an opportunistic buy for me,” explained Roth. “The folks were losing it that had it, and I was able to pick it up very inexpensively.”
Roth’s “Springs-based Notes Live entertainment company” intends to implement an “8,000-seat outdoor amphitheater on 18 acres in Polaris Pointe, south of Boot Barn Hall and the Bourbon Brothers Smokehouse & Tavern.”
Additionally, Notes will serve food and drinks, host karaoke & trivia, showcase DJs, and serve as a platform for up & coming artists with show-outs too small for Roth’s other, more established nearby premises.
