A new pizza place to feature “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” décor is tentatively scheduled to open in Denver sometime this May. Casey Jones will open in a space at 24 N. Broadway in Denver, which formerly housed Giordano’s.
The restaurant is owned by Handsome Boys Hospitality co-founder Josh Schmitz. Schmitz is apparently a huge fan of TMNT, and Casey Jones is his favorite character, according to an article by BusinessDen. Jones is a fictional character who wore a hockey mask and fought crime in the comic series.
Chef Mat Shumaker will develop the pizza menu that will feature New York-style pies at $3 per slice. Casey Jones will feature a full bar with themed cocktails.
Handsome Boys Hospitality has been working on several projects including RiNo Country Club on Wynkoop St., a miniature golf course that will offer a full bar with several food options including burgers and salads. The restaurant group also operates Wizard of Oz-inspired ice cream shop, Hidden Gems.
