Anyone who’s ever worked in a restaurant knows things aren’t always easy, but that’s not stopping owners Dennis Phelps, Andy Bruch and Dan Phelps from opening Point Easy in the hopes of keeping things just that when they take over for the former Whittier Pub at 2000 East 28th Avenue.
The Brothers Phelps have worked together in the past at The Kitchen in Boulder, where they also met their future business partner in Bruch.
In terms of “keeping things easy,” the main point of interest is focusing on communication around issues before they fester, get out of hand, and get to “point chaos.”
Those familiar with the behind-the-scenes of restaurant life already know how easily situations can get out of hand, and this trio got together to create their “dream restaurant” where they aim to build a smooth-running staff.
Dennis has connections to the Cure Organic Farm due to his work there during the pandemic, and the menu at Point Easy will be farm-to-table. There will be a few items that stick around for the long haul, but for the most part, it will change seasonally depending on availability.
They will also have an option called “Get Fed,” where the guest doesn’t have to worry about what to order. In the same sense of a tasting menu, the server will simply assure there’s no allergies or serious dislikes, then build a meal for the table.
Now that is keeping things easy.
What Now Denver reached out to the owners on Thursday for comment, but was unable to get ahold of them. No official word on an opening date has been released.
