After being open for 18 months, and then closed for 18 months, Primitive Beer is getting ready to reopen their doors to the public.

According to recent reporting from Westword, the updated brewery at 2025 Ionosphere Street in Longmont will become one of the first, and potentially only, breweries in the state of Colorado to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry.

The brewery is owned by Brandon and Lisa Boldt and is, according to the website, “inspired by centuries-old Belgian brewing techniques and a flair for the modern.”

The result of their beers has landed them the role of Colorado’s first “exclusively spontaneous, barrel-fermented beer blender.” Some of those beers purposefully lack carbonation and include a list of “effervescent blends” that are conditioned for six months in Champagne-style glass 750ml bottles.

What Now Denver spoke to Lisa Boldt on Tuesday, and she said they were excited to get back on track after suffering their initial closure due to the pandemic.

The brewery will hold a couple of soft openings throughout September with the hopes to finish reopening by the end of the first week of October. At that time, Boldt says they’ll start out operating on the weekends before moving back into their full hours.
