Sky Bear Brewery and Pub, owned by Amanda Kissel in partnership with her parents, has signed for a new lease at 272 E 5th Street in Loveland.
The pub and restaurant will come with just under 2,400 square feet of space to work with in a building called the Cleveland Station.
“My dad has been brewing beer at home for almost a decade now,” said Kissel when she spoke to What Now Denver on Monday. “It’s always been a dream of mine, as well, to open a restaurant and bar.”
What started as something of a joke out on Sky Bear Trail eventually transitioned into a more serious question as the father-daughter team began weighing their options.
“It’s just been so crazy with staffing and how things have been and my dad just kept asking me about it. It developed from there, and now he’ll run the brewing and the back of the house, and I’ll man the front.”
Since the home base of the beer started out on Sky Bear Trail where Kissel’s parents live in Evergreen, they thought it only fitting to keep the name for the pub.
Although they’ll serve their house-brewed beer, the pub will also include a full liquor bar and a small bites menu as opposed to serving only beer and offering a food truck.
Having just signed the lease and moving into the beginning stages of the buildout, the Kissel’s are hopeful to be open by January 2022.
