Police & Thieves — a women- and minority-owned/operated string of dispensaries — will soon receive new signage at its Colfax location, according to a commercial construction permit filed with the city.

The construction will take place at 6302 East Colfax Avenue.

In January of this year, Westword reported that the Frosted Leaf dispensaries located at 399 South Harrison Street and 6302 East Colfax Avenue were undergoing an ownership transition and would be rebranded as Police & Thieves.

The dispensaries are now owned by Kelsy Yates and David Tomas Martinez and have no affiliation with Frosted Leaf.

As for Yates’ and Martinez’s plans for Police & Thieves, Yates told Westword, “…the brand is planning to do community outreach programs, particularly with incarcerated individuals and support organizations that work to rehabilitate people from previous convictions.” They would also like to create an artist support program for historically marginalized people.

Both dispensaries are currently open, though rebranding is seemingly ongoing as Yates told Westword in January, “the transition will take about a year to complete.”
