If you have ever driven through Texas, you might have made a purposeful stop at an over-sized Buc-ee’s location to fill up an empty gas tank, take a restroom break, and buy an ample supply of snacks for the road trip. If not, you’re in for a treat.
Buc-ee’s first opened in Texas in 1982 and has since built about three dozen locations across the Lone Star State and several others in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Now, Buc-ee’s is coming to Colorado.
Buc-ee’s will reportedly build a new location north of Denver at Interstate-25 and Colorado State Highway 60 in Johnstown, according to a BizWest article. The location could open in 2024.
Buc-ee’s touts its commitment to providing the “world’s cleanest restrooms,” oversized retail space, and enough pumps for dozens to fill up their gas tanks simultaneously. Buc-ee’s has some smaller locations, but many are oversized, eye-catching spots with its signature beaver mascot displayed high for drivers to see.
Buc-ee’s offers a variety of freshly-made savory food items, trail mixes, baked goods, and more. Speciality gift items, chips, and soft drinks are available to road-trippers and anyone who wants to check out the larger-than-life convenience store.
