Art & Jakes, a sports bar chain based in Metro Detroit is working on a new location at the old Champps Kitchen + Bar closed earlier this year. The new location was announced on Tuesday. The Lansing restaurant is located at 2800 Preyde Ave, next to the Eastwood Towne Center off U.S. 127 and Lake Lansing Road. The new location is anticipated to open in late 2024.
Husband-and-wife duo, Victor and Brenda Trpcevski opened the first Arts & Jakes in 2002 at M59 and Mound. The company has since been expanding. Nowadays, Arts & Jakes has five locations in Michigan, including Sterling Heights, Shelby Township, Northville, Washington Township, and Clarkston, and one in Newnan, Georgia. Lansing will be the company’s 7th location altogether and 6th location in Michigan.

Other eateries on the block include P.F. Chang’s, Bravo! Italian Kitchen, Panchero’s Mexican Grill, and BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. By the time of this coverage, the Trpcevskis were not available for comments.
