CAVA Expands Its Footprint With New Detroit Restaurant

CAVA, a Mediterranean restaurant chain, opens its first restaurant in the Detroit Metro Area on September 26. This new spot marks its second location in Michigan and offers an indoor dining room and a fast-paced digital order pick-up and delivery model. The restaurant blends wholesome, health-focused food with bold, satisfying flavors.

“We were delighted by the way the Canton community embraced our first Michigan restaurant this summer,” said Jeff Gaul, Chief Development Officer of CAVA.

He further added, “As we grow across the Midwest, we’re excited to welcome Detroit to our table to experience the bold flavors of our high-quality meals and Mediterranean hospitality while living out our mission to bring heart, health, and humanity to food.”

New Flavor-Packed Menu

The menu offers more than 17 billion possible combinations, including chef-curated bowls and pitas, fan-favorite pita chips, and dips. The crafted menu further highlights falafel crunch bowls, garlicy chicken shawarma bowls, steak, and more.

Committed to Growth and Community Impact

Since 2019, the CAVA brand’s Community Day program has raised over $1 million in donations and food contributions. CAVA has also generously donated fresh, flavorful meals to the local community prepared by the restaurant during the training period.

It has also launched a nationwide food donation initiative in 2023 to support local efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity. These efforts also help reduce food waste as CAVA expands into new markets.

CAVA aims to reach 1,000 locations by 2032 and is continuing its expansion nationwide. The restaurant recently celebrated the opening of its 400th location.

The Downtown Detroit location plans to hire 25–40 local employees, offering competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for career growth. The restaurant will offer competitive pay, benefits, paid time off, free meals, and mental health support to create a supportive and growing work environment.
