Owners of the Canton-based Indian restaurant are moving north for their second location.
From their social media, Aha Biryanis will be opening at 29210 Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills. Co-owner Bharat Kumar told What Now Detroit the permits and licensing are set, they are just waiting on final work to be done inside. The team has been planning a new restaurant since September.
“Authentic biryani, no food colors, no MSG – the flavors you already love, coming even closer,” said a recent post on their Facebook page.
Their first location opened in November 2023 at 44993 Ford Road in Canton, serving up Indian cuisine including curry and biryanis. Popular menu items include the butter chicken, nalli gosht biryani and chicken fry piece biryani. Kumar said the larger kitchen will allow for a bigger menu, and items will be announced soon.
Along with serving at the restaurant, they also offer catering, with their signature biryanis, entrees, naan and yogurt rice, and desserts. These options are available on their website.
The team had been looking at locations in Northville and Farmington Hills, and settled on the Orchard Lake Road address due to its space and traffic in the area. Aha Biryanis joins the plaza with Jiang Nan Noodle House and Zayeqa on the east side of Orchard Lake Road. This is near the intersection of Orchard Lake and 13 Mile roads.
Kumar said he should have a firm opening date by Thursday. The business is not yet listed online.
