The praised spot for shawarma is moving to two Detroit suburbs this year.
On Amo Sami’s Shawarma’s Instagram page, two new locations are listed which are Warren and Southgate. The addresses have not been confirmed as it is early in the opening process. If all goes well, both locations should be open by the end of the year.
The shawarma chain currently has three locations, in Wayne at 38800 Michigan Avenue, in Dearborn at 720 Town Center Drive and Sterling Heights at 5950 15 Mile Road. The Wayne location was the company’s very first franchise, and expansion followed. The family owned restaurant was started by Sami Rayshouny, and they have prospects of expanding both in Michigan and in Florida.
“Amo Sami’s Shawarma brings the rich, authentic flavors of Old Beirut to the heart of Metro Detroit, one sandwich at a time,” says the description on their website.
Their signature sandwich the Amo Sami has been described as “breaking the internet,” in recent weeks. Other menu items include the Beirut Sami and the Chicken Shawarma Sami. Orders can be taken both in-store and online at amosamis.com.
When What Now Detroit reached out to Southgate franchisee Mahdi Baydoun, he was not available for comment. The Warren franchisee is still being determined. News on the locations is expected to be announced in the near future.
