Azima Grill House will be a new spot for Mediterranean cuisine on the vibrant Michigan Avenue in Dearborn.
News of a new restaurant in downtown Dearborn has recently been buzzing on social media. This will be the grill house at 22215 Michigan Avenue, serving Mediterranean barbecue. The restaurant will be opening sometime next month.
Co-owner Hamza Elmelegy and his team were able to secure the space in early June. The restaurant will be in the former Lue Thai Cafe which closed earlier this year. It is described as a happening area and a desired spot for business.
“It’s pretty much the spot where everyone hangs out at,” Elmelegy told What Now Detroit.
In a recent post on social media, the new grill house is described as having grilled meats and “poultry Arabian style.” It will serve “mashawi” which means meat or vegetables cooked over an open fire. The official menu has not yet been released.
Azima will join other restaurants and cafes on the south side of Michigan Avenue including Famous Hamburger, Moose’s Martini Pub, Bayt Al Mocha and Chicken Kraze. This is on the west side of downtown Dearborn.
Elmelegy said the business still has to go through health inspections. They will have a more firm opening date in the coming weeks.
