Curiouser and curiouser, the iconic Mad Hatter Bistro space is finally being taken over by a new concept after over a year of planning and negotiation. Led by the same mastermind behind the phenomenal Mad Hatter, Bell Bistro is coming in strong with a complete overhaul of Mad Hatter’s concept, design, and offerings.

During a conversation with What Now Detroit, Randy Dickow, Managing Partner, disclosed that the team is working on a new menu. The restaurant is expected to open in early 2024 with plans to serve lunch and dinner and may expand into brunch on the weekends in the near future.

As of now, Bell Bistro’s interior will hold 64 seats, with nine at the bar and an ambitious outdoor expansion plan as the existing outdoor area is against the building and could only hold one four-seater table. “It’s our intent to really invest right back into that [outside] space and make it a beautiful patio if we’re allowed to,” Dickow noted in an article in Downtown Publications.

Bell Bistro will open at the beginning of 2024 at 185 N Old Woodward Ave. Birmingham, MI 48009. The new restaurant and bar will serve New American fare accompanied by beers, wines, and cocktails.
