According to information on the website, a new Big Moe’s Kitchen location is in the works at Westland, MI. Company registration materials indicate the Westland location is directly owned by the chain’s founder, Muhieddine El-hamawi (Big Moe).
The restaurant’s website has marked a new location at 785 S. Wayne Rd. in Westland as coming soon. The space was previously owned by a hair salon, and a phone store prior to that. The suite sits between a dental office and an Urgent Care, with a kabob restaurant and a Sushi spot in the strip across the street.
Big Moe’s Kitchen was established by chef/entrepreneur Moe El-hamawi to change the style of food the local communities have access to. The first Big Moe’s Kitchen opened in a gas station in Wayne, MI in 2016. Since then, the chain has grown to 5 Michigan locations and a food truck. The chain recently opened its first international location in Lebanon.
The restaurant’s menu features various quick meal items, including salads, wings, wraps, subs, and rice bowls. The menu also highlights a handful of Chef’s signature, including Bam Bam Shrimp, BBQ Chicken Rolls, and Smoked Brisket Sandwich. Diners can also indulge in 16oz milkshakes that come in four different flavors, Mango, Pina Colada, Strawberry, and Mixed Berry.
Another location is also in the works in East Lansing, as reported by Lansing State Journal. Registration materials suggest the East Lansing location is owned and operated by franchisee Ahmed Al-Kubati. What Now Detroit reached out to El-hawami for confirmations, but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
