A chain started from scratch in Wayne is coming to the north side of the city soon.
In a recent social media announcement, Big Moe’s Kitchen is opening their ninth location at 1936 E Eight Mile Road. This is going at the Motown Brunch House space on the south side of the road. Co-owner John Goci told What Now Detroit he and the team plan on opening the restaurant on April 20.
Goci is also the owner of Mike and Mona’s US 12 at 34824 W Michigan Avenue in Wayne. This is a bar and grill also offering brunch in the city. Goci was contacted by Big Moe’s owner who wanted to debut a new location, and they decided this would be a great venture together.
“He’s as excited as I am,” Goci said. He added he wanted to bring an option for breakfast and lunch to the area.
Big Moe’s has locations all around Metro Detroit and beyond, including in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Garden City, Grand Blanc, Canton, Sterling Heights, Westland and East Lansing.
This is the company’s 10-year anniversary.
The restaurants have a range of options including wings, wraps, subs, rice bowls and salads. “Big Moe’s Signature” dishes include the bam bam shrimp fried and tossed in bam bam sauce, and the smoked brisket sandwich on a brioche bun with sweet BBQ sauces and coleslaw. Menus do not vary by location.
The newest Big Moe’s will join the Belmont Shopping Center with Imperial Fresh Market, Five Below and Little Caesars Pizza. Other clothing stores are at the plaza, and it is across the street from restaurants including Papa’s Pizza, Just Smash It Warren and My Big Fat Shawarma. This is in the Butler neighborhood on the north side of the city, which is mostly residential.
Hours of operation have not been released as of yet. For more information on Big Moe’s Kitchen and the future opening, visit their Facebook page.
