Fusing boba tea and chai is the specialty of one company out of Utica.
Boba Chai is bringing their third shop to the Fairlane Mall at 18900 Michigan Avenue H314 in Dearborn. It is near the mall’s center area. Director at the company Munthasin Ahmed told What Now Detroit the business is in the soft opening phase, and a grand opening will be at the end of the month.
The last Boba Chai location that opened was at Oakland Mall in Troy last September. The Utica shop opened in 2021, and the company has seen growth since its conception. At the shops, milk teas, fruit teas, frizzies and chai boba are popular menu items.
“Visit us for the perfect blend of flavor and fun!” Says the description on their Instagram page.
It wouldn’t be a boba shop without the flavored balls of sugar. Flavors include tropical boba pearls, mango and strawberry. Jelly toppings can be put on like lychee, mango and coconut.
Boba Chai has been teasing the shop on social media in recent months. The company has also done pop-up collaborations with businesses like The Baking Room by Romona. There is currently no news of a fourth location from the company opening in the near future.
