Boomerang Coffee Setting Up Third Midland Location for Spring Debut

As one coffee shop closes, another is ready to open.

The Midland-based coffee chain has a third location in store soon.

Boomerang Coffee Lounge announced on social media their third shop is opening at 3715 N Saginaw Road this year. The is replacing the Mug Shots Coffee location and will have a drive-thru. An opening date hasn’t yet been announced, but the team is hoping for a mid-March debut.

The coffee company is owned by locals Maegan and Brett Nowak, who founded their business in 2021 at 128 Ashman Circle. Brett is a local realtor in the area. Their second location opened last year at 309 Jerome Street downtown following the success of their debut shop.

“Empowering our communities to bounce back better!” Says the description on their Facebook page.

Boomerang offers pickup and delivery services for their drinks, which include lattes, cold brews, and custom coffees like their oatmeal cream pie cold brew. They also offer smoothies and hot chocolate. For bites, muffins, bagels, biscuits and croissants are a few items.

The coffee shop is coming to the south side of N Saginaw Road, right across from Midland Moose Lodge #1541. This is on the north side of Midland, not far from Frick’s Sports Bar. Mug Shots Coffee was not at this address long as it opened at the beginning of 2024.

Right now, the owners are hiring for positions including baristas (full time and part time). What Now Detroit has reached out to the owners, and this article may be updated.
