Healthy sandwiches and vegan options will be offered at a new cafe for St. Clair Shores.
The Detroit News reported a new restaurant from Cacao Tree Cafe owner Amber Poupore will be opening at 21721 Harper Street. The company has been around for 15 years and this is their first expansion. Poupore is hoping to debut the new spot sometime in 2026.
Poupore’s Royal Oak location opened in 2010 at 204 W 4th Street. The menu offers salads like the foodies favorite with cherry tomatoes, red onion and chickpeas. Plentifuls include bowls with veggies, salsa and tortilla chips, and wraps and burritos are also options. For drinks, Poupore offers organic smoothies, wellness shots and cold brew coffees.
“Offering our community freshly prepared plant-based food that is nourishing for the body, mind and spirit!” Says the description on their Facebook page.
Along with being the owner of Cacao Tree Cafe, Poupore is a culinary educator and also owned The Clean Plate in Shelby Township which is closed as of 2018. Like Cacao, it offered vegetarian and gluten-free options to the suburb.
The new location will be at the corner of Sunnyside Street and Harper Avenue on the south side of St. Clair Shores. This is across the street from Cloverleaf Pizza. It will have a new name, and an announcement about the new cafe has not yet been made on social media.
