G Georges Restaurant at 33080 Northwestern Hwy has quietly closed its doors. But the American staple is not gone forever. Rather, a new restaurant called Vive has been proposed by the owners and was reviewed by the West Bloomfield Planning Commission on June 25.

Zef Palokaj, co-owner of G Georges Restaurant, appears to be working on a new concept called Vive and is working on remodeling the existing space. Preliminary plans created by MCI Design Group indicate the interior will include an approximately 300-square-foot bar with 16 seats, two main dining areas with a total of 82 seats, a lounge dining area with 34 seats, and a 382-square-foot private dining room with 20 seats.

The new restaurant will also offer carry-out options, according to the business’s state filing records. Calls made to Palokaj were unanswered. G Georges Restaurant was a popular neighborhood restaurant known for serving breakfast food until 3 p.m. and their choice of sourcing fresh ingredients locally.
