Family recipes are set to be served at a new deli coming to the northern suburb.
Dedo’s Deli is opening at 3325 University Drive, Suite 101. It takes inspiration from the co-owner Jaqueline Turner’s father who ran a deli for 30 years. Her husband and co-owner Bill Turner told What Now Detroit they are hoping to open sometime after Thanksgiving.
The deli is themed to Jaqueline’s father in law, or “Dedo” which means grandfather in Macedonian. He owned Cityscape Deli at 877 W Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills, and it is now run by the two. The spot serves sandwiches and subs with corn beef, pastrami, turkey breast and other meats.
“Honoring our Dedo’s success through his unwavering work ethic and commitment to food is the greatest privilege our family has ever committed to,” Bill said.
Turner said the menu is still under construction and will all be homemade, featuring soups, sandwiches and side dishes, much like the current location. It will have market-fresh ingredients.
In the past, Demo’s Deli has done catering for large events in Bloomfield Township. Bill is already a member of the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce. They hope to support local businesses in the area and become a staple of the community.
The deli will be close to the intersection of N Squirrel Road, in between Auburn Hills Extended Stay Inn and O Grizzly’s Bar & Bistro. Bill is hoping to open after Thanksgiving, but he and staff are still working through the final delays.
More information on the opening date will be posted to their social media including Instagram @dedosdeli.
