A vacant space in the Jamison neighborhood will soon be a Southern soul food restaurant.
A new restaurant called Dreamy Eats has been listed on Yelp at 8991 Linwood Street. This will be in place of the former Hungry Howie’s Pizza. An estimated date of opening has not been released.
In a recent post from the business owner Taryn Boggon, she said she has been working on this project for a while, and that cooking is her true passion. The space is now under construction.
“I”m ready to give Detroit some real Southern soul food!” Says the post on Instagram.
While the menu has not been made public, food like wings, seafood, pasta and mac and cheese have been displayed online. In the Instagram video, work is currently being done on the interior in areas like the kitchen and main dining area. The project has already been through various approval stages.
The business owners are setting up shop in the Jamison neighborhood. Linwood Street is not home to many restaurants in this neighborhood, so the business will stand out. It is 10 minutes away from downtown Detroit.
