Metro Detroit is about to get a new breakfast spot. Kansas-based Effin Egg plans to open a new location at 4160 Cass Ave. The location is anticipated to open later in the summer. The news was first seen on Crain’s Detroit.

Effin Egg Detroit is currently hiring for all positions. According to business registration materials with the state, the location is owned and operated by franchisee Lucretia Williams, who retired from her role as a Business Strategy and Product Development lead after more than 25 years in the auto industry.

“I am addicted to positive human experiences and wanted to touch people in spaces of basic human need; food, water or shelter. Effin Egg is a fast casual affordable breakfast restaurant that offers positive human interaction at the early part of their day,” Williams told What Now Detroit via email.

According to information on the chain’s website, once open, the Detroit location will operate daily from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The location is currently hiring for all positions and will also provide catering options. The chain is known for its robust menu of Mexican-fusion breakfast offerings including breakfast tacos and quesadillas.

“My personal favorites are the Spicy Bacon Brisket sandwich with our signature EFFY sauce, the Bougie Avocado Bagel, the Eff U Burrito; oh and let’s not forget our signature roasted coffee. There is so much to love about the menu. I can’t wait to share it with the people of Detroit,” said Williams.

Effin Egg currently has 25 locations. The Detroit location will be the chain’s first Michigan store. What Now Detroit reached out to Rogers but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
