The Lebanese restaurant is growing their presence near the state capital.

Aladdin’s Express will be taking over the former Mr. Taco storefront at 3122 S Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, according to a recent report from Lansing State Journal. This is the first time a new business is coming to the address since the taco spot’s opening in 1967. An opening date has not been announced.

The original Aladdin’s location is at 300 N Clippert Street in Lansing Charter Township, owned by locals Ali and Amal Elbast. They first came on the scene in 1996 and are known for falafel, fried kibbee meat and vegetarian options like salad and soup. The menu for the new location is expected to feature more takeout options.

“After sitting empty for over two years, Lansing’s old Mr. Taco is about to see new life,” says a recent Facebook post from Aladdin’s.

The address has not been updated online to reflect the Aladdin’s restaurant, but according to social media the grand opening will be announced soon. Locals noticed the sign going up for the new location in October, and the business later shared the news. Now, final preparations are being done.
