According to materials submitted to the city’s planning board, the first full-service RH Gallery in Birmingham has submitted plans to modify the design of its on-site restaurant. The board met on March 13 to discuss a requested change from the developers regarding the site at 300 S. Old Woodward, which will remove “a main design feature of the outdoor dining” area for the on-site restaurant located on the 4th floor.

Based on the latest floor plan, the proposed restaurant has 144 seats, spread between twenty-four 2-tops and 24 4-tops. The restaurant has an approximately 2,960-square-foot indoor cafe, additional outdoor seating on the south and north terraces, and a small wine bar by the main entrance.

The design and development are led by Detroit-based Sachse Construction. After years of planning and modifications, the city approved the project in March 2023. The site, intended to be the first full-service RH Gallery in Michigan, is a four-story showroom with a restaurant planned on the top floor, whose direction was shifted to the east to face Old Woodward.

A representative from RH Gallery was not available for comments at the time of this coverage. RH, formerly Restoration Hardware, is the world’s leading luxury home furnishings purveyor, offering furniture, lighting, textiles, bathware, decor, outdoor, and more. Currently, details of the restaurant is not available to the public.
