The newest coffee shop from the Florida-based coffee company will be close to the Michigan State University campus.

It was revealed a new Foxtail Coffee location is coming to 431 E Grand River Avenue. This will be the seventh Michigan location for the brand that has been expanding since last year. It is set to open in the spring 2026.

East Lansing has a great energy, and we’re looking forward to being a part of it,” said Jason Mulder, director of operations for Foxtail Michigan in a press release. He added the space is being designed for people to study and socialize.

The chain is known for their cold brews, espressos and teas, with high-quality beans roasted in-house. Locations also sell pastries, cake pops, breakfast sandwiches and drinks themed to the seasons.

Foxtails’ new shop will be right across the street from MSU’s main campus, next to Detroit Wing Company and the Student Book Store. It will continue the theme of having a hand-painted mural, and the company will work with a local muralist. As it is early in the opening process, work on the inside is not being done yet.

Originally, the chain opened in 2016 in Winter Park, Florida. It was founded by Alex Tchekmeian and Iain Yeakle. The Michigan locations in Ada Village, Holland, Byron Center, Eastown, Grandville and East Paris are franchised by Baton Collective.

Jamie Allen, communications manager for Foxtail Coffee, told What Now Detroit the company will continue to look for communities where the company will thrive. For more information on Foxtail, visit their website foxtailcoffee.com.
