Gardenside Brewery is an upcoming brewery and restaurant set to open in the heart of Detroit’s Core City. The space promises a unique blend of craft beer, delicious food and a nature-inspired atmosphere with a goal of bringing the community together.
“We realized that there’s a big gap in the market as far as having an outdoor space that felt really green and intentional and that put an emphasis on trying to create these moments of connection between nature and people,” Owner Jack Jeffery told What Now Detroit.
The 5,778-square-foot building—designed by architecture firm END Studio—will be housed in a warehouse-style structure featuring high ceilings and skylights. The team also plans to remove some existing windows to create a large bay maximizing natural light.
Jeffery described the space as light and airy, with plenty of indoor greenery. Expansive glass windows will overlook the beer garden, which will double as a lush landscape filled with native Michigan perennials
As for the menu, Jeffery plans to offer farm-to-table dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
“Detroit has so many incredible growers and producers and urban farmers who are doing great work,” he said. “We’d really love to highlight all of the produce that we have in the city.”
When it comes to drinks, Gardenside Brewery aims to offer something for everyone. The menu will include beer, wine and hard seltzers, along with a strong focus on non-alcoholic options like hop water, NA beers and seltzers.
“I think the brewery for me is kind of a vehicle to try and think about how businesses can give back and be more connected into their community – the community aspect is definitely what I’m most excited about,” Jeffery said.
While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, the brewery is expected to open in 2026.
