The closing of Z!Eats in Lansing is paving the way for a location from a well-known cafe.
It was recently reported by Lansing State Journal that Z!Eats will be closing at 214 S Washington Square near downtown. In addition, the chain Great Harvest Bakery & Cafe will be opening at the space. According to owner of the new location Raymond Neatfeld, the cafe will be opening in three-to-six weeks.
The slogan of the company is “Bread, the way it ought to be.” Neatfeld said there is an emphasis on the ingredients being healthy and not having additives or preservatives.
“It’s all clean ingredients, locally sourced,” Neatfeld told What Now Detroit.
There is currently a great harvest location at 6137 W Saginaw Way in Lansing. Great Harvest Bread Company was founded in 1976 in Montana and has locations around the country. This is one of the latest expansions from the company.
Many of the baked goods on the menu are sweets, including cookies, muffins, teacakes and scones. There are also specialty breads and gluten-free options. The sandwich options feature their fresh-made breads, like the chicken salad sandwich, ham & cheese and spicy turkey and pepper jack.
The Z!Eats location, formerly Zoup!, had been in Lansing for 15 years. Now, Great Harvest will operate next to Market On the SQ2 convenience store and Summit Comics & Games. For more information on the cafe, visit greatharvestlansing.com.
