Loaded teas, healthy shakes and smoothies are coming to the downtown area.
Downtown Ypsi Nutrition is the second smoothie and juice bar from the owner of Haggerty Nutrition Cafe, coming to 56 N Huron Street downtown. As of now, signage is up in the front and staff are building out the space. Owner Sebtein Aljaihawi told What Now Detroit once final approvals from the health department go through, he plans to open the business sometime in April.
Aljaihawi has been looking at the Ypsilanti property for about four months, and he found it to be a prime location for his second shop. Originally, he was seeking a storefront in downtown Ann Arbor. Downtown Ypsi Nutrition will be very similar to his Van Buren Township location at 9830 Haggerty Road, serving up the same drinks regulars have come to enjoy.
“I’m confident in the product we’re making,” Aljaihawi said.
The loaded teas are one of the main draws of the Van Buren Township shop, offering flavors like blackberry and citrus infused with peach-mango. The shop is relatively recent as it was established in late 2025. Like the Van Buren Township location, Aljaihawi will listen to his loyal customers for drink recommendations in Ypsilanti.
Along with the loaded teas, the Van Buren township location serves Herbalife shakes with flavors like chocolate covered banana and mocha caramel latte. They also serve flavored carbonated water, which is distinct from soda. Aljaihawi plans on bringing many of the signature flavors to the new location.
In downtown Ypsilanti, the cafe will be on the east side of N Huron Street, close to Riverside Arts Center. Not many bars or restaurants are along this stretch of downtown, as most are at the intersection of W Michigan Avenue. This is also close to Ypsilanti Art Supply and Twisted Things Boutique.
