It is now confirmed what is happening to the former Statler Bistro address.
From reports, Hamlin Pub is opening at the former restaurant, 313 Park Avenue which closed in summer 2025. This marks the company’s 11th location in the Detroit area. The opening date is set for April 3.
When What Now Detroit spoke with representatives of Joe Vicari Group, the hospitality company which opened Statler Bistro, they said a new concept would eventually be taking its place. Names from the company include Andiamo, Joe Muer Seafood and Bronze Door. Now, the restaurant group is partnering with the Hamlin Pub owners to bring their newest location to downtown.
Shifting to Hamlin Pub, the company has been around since 1992 and has been expanding in metro Detroit ever since. This will be their first downtown location, and it is owned by business partners Jim Tavano and John DeAngelis. From the Crain’s Detroit Business article, the restaurant will organize an event to bring guests to the Detroit Tigers’ Opening Day game and back to the restaurant.
Locations offer multiple menu options including the regular food menu, late night menu and gluten-free menu. Entrees include burgers and sliders, tacos, wings, sandwiches, pizza and soups and salads. Cocktails like their Kentucky mule and Michigan Mary, featuring Michigan vodka and McClure’s bloody mary mix, are signature drinks.
What Now Detroit previously covered the Clinton Township location opening this past fall at 42305 Garfield Road. This was their last reported expansion
