The owners of Joseph’s Coney Island are sticking around, but giving the space a rebrand this year.
From Hometown Life, the downtown coney island spot at 113 W Main Street is switching to Joseph’s Brunch House. The space will have a new menu and interior redesign. Co-owner Nik Berisaj told What Now Detroit he did not want to give an opening date yet as renovations are still ongoing, but it could be within the next few weeks.
Conversations on social media started a few weeks ago about Joesph’s Coney Island possibly changing hands. Now, many are excited about the new brunch spot while missing the restaurant that has become a staple in the city’s downtown.
Joseph’s Coney island was a lunch spot known for their breakfast options, burgers, wraps and of course coneys. The breakfast menu featured a wide range of options like eggs, buttermilk pancakes and omelettes. The new menu is reported to be focused on brunch items.
The brunch house will be open from the early morning to mid-afternoon, specializing in breakfast and lunch items. Along with this, he plans on opening another restaurant called Brunch Berry in Howell. The menus have not yet been finalized.
The former coney island spot is near the corner of W Main Street and S Canter Street, close to Great White Buffalo Brewing Co. Adjacent to Joseph’s was The Lava Grille Northville, which is now listed as closed.
What Now Detroit has reached out to the owners and is awaiting further comment.
