The owners of Papa’s Pizza & BBQ have big plans for a street corner in the township.

A new restaurant called Marky’s Kitchen & Bar is listed online at 15153 23 Mile Road in Shelby Township and will serve elevated bar food. This is to accompany the new Papa’s Pizza opening next door, which is a franchise. The restaurant is set to debut sometime in March.

A member of the team at Marky’s told What Now Detroit the restaurant has been in the plans for over a year. As of November they are in the hiring process. In a recent Facebook post, it is shown the interior of the restaurant is under construction right now, and the walls have been put up.

“We can’t wait to welcome you in for great food, cold drinks and an unforgettable vibe,” said a Facebook post in November. The opening date had been pushed back due to delays.

While Papa’s Pizza is known for specialty pizzas and wings, Marky’s will have a menu of elevated bar food, like appetizers and smaller plates, and the options will be released closer to the opening date. When coming into the restaurant, customers will have the option to either order from the Marky’s menu or Papa Pizza’s.

Marky’s is coming to the corner of 23 Mile and Hayes roads, next to an AT&T store location. Olga’s Kitchen, a Mediterranean restaurant, is also in this plaza. Other restaurants near Marky’s include Black Label Tavern Shelby, Culver’s and First Watch.

No website has been set up for the business yet, but more information on the opening date can be found on their social media pages.
