Downtown Birmingham is getting authentic Mexican tacos at a new family owned shop.
It was recently revealed by local realtor Sloane Wolf on Instagram that Snap Taco will be opening at 126 S Old Woodward Avenue in downtown Birmingham. This is the former Kaku Sushi & Poke location. When speaking with owner Platon Rodriguez, he told What Now Detroit they are set to open their second restaurant in about a month.
“Authentic Mexican flavor, from our kitchen to your corazon,” says the description on their website.
Snap Taco at 575 N Lapeer Road in Lake Orion has been around since 2020, serving street tacos, queso dip, burritos and other classic Mexican dishes. The location also has a drink menu, featuring margaritas, tequila and wine. Rodriguez said the Birmingham menu will be very similar.
Snap Taco applied for the new space in June, listed on the Michigan Business Registry page as “Snap Taco II.” The shop will be near the corner of S Woodward Avenue and W Maple Road, in between Evereve and Churchills Bistro Cigar Bar. Outdoor street parking is available in front of the business.
There are not yet any updates on Snap Taco’s social media about the Birmingham location, but announcements will follow in the near future. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
