A new pizza shop and wine bar is set to accompany the recently opened Bella Limone Italian restaurant.

Detroit Free Press recently reported on Bella Limone opening at 100 S Main Street in Royal Oak, with a downstairs addition called Little Bella’s Pizza and Wine Bar to accompany the restaurant in the near future. A banquet hall is also planned for this area of the building. Right now, the estimated opening for the pizza restaurant is looking like October.

The project comes from restauranteur Adam Merkel who has opened four restaurants in Howell and Royal Oak, including Diamonds Steak & Seafood, Cello Italian Restaurant, The Silver Pig and now Bella Limone. The new Italian restaurant replaced Pinky’s rooftop lounge in August, offering an open space for dining.

Bella Limone serves pastas, salads and homemade limoncello. The menu for Little Bella’s Pizza has not yet been released, but the wines from Bella Limone will be served for the downstairs.

“The forthcoming concept will compliment Bella Limone by offering a more casual yet refined Italian dining experience,” said the press release.

The restaurant is situated right in downtown Royal Oak, surrounded by other cuisine spots such as Leo’s Coney Island, Royal Oak Masala and Boukie’s Grill. Right now, the lower-level space is Pearl’s Deep Dive cocktail bar, and it will transition to being Little Bella’s Pizza and Wine Bar in October.
