A mulligan is afoot on the greens of the Maples Golf Club in Novi that could soon bring food and drinks to the back nine.

New owners are working to resurrect an on-site restaurant, dubbed Maples Bar & Bistro, inside the clubhouse of the public links at 31260 Wakefield Drive.

Maples is a secluded nine-hole executive golf course tucked in nooks of the Maples of Novi subdivision just south of 14 Mile Road. In addition to the 3,700 yard fairway, it features a swimming pool and accommodations for soccer golf, according to its website.

A new ownership team led by Richard Konja assumed control of the facility last year and sought a rebirth of the clubhouse eatery, which shut down operations several years ago, Hometown Life reported. Novi city officials last month approved a liquor license that allows Maples Bar & Bistro to serve beer, wine, and mixed cocktails. Konja said he anticipates a July 1 reopening once the permitting to sell alcohol transfers to the new owners.

The restaurant will serve appetizers like slider burgers, soft-baked pretzels, roasted brussels sprouts, “gametime” nachos and mozzarella cheese sticks.

Soups, salads, burgers, paninis and Philly cheese steaks will also be on the menu alongside entrees like salmon, steak, chicken parmesan, shrimp scampi and fettuccini alfredo.
