Costela Brazilian Steak House at 110 Uptown Drive closed its doors last month as the operating group behind the concept revamp the space into a new concept: Krazy Juan Mexican Steak House. The space is mostly turnkey and a new sign has gone up on the doors. This news was first seen on MLive.

Costela posted on Facebook on Aug 21 to announce its upcoming closure: “We would like to thank everyone who supported Costela Brazilian Steakhouse these past few years. We tried our best to keep the place going but we fell a little short.”

Business registration records indicate the new concept will be operated by the same owner, Jose Costilla, and his business partners. What Now Detroit reached out to Costilla but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage. No new liquor license activity can be found at the restaurant address or under the new restaurant name.
