A Michigan-based burger chain with a long-standing reputation for quality is making its way to Metro Detroit.

Halo Burger, operated by Achille “Ace” DiNello, will open at 41554 Garfield Road in Clinton Township, in the former Church’s Chicken location.

DiNello told What Now Detroit that the new spot will follow a familiar model, offering both dine-in and drive-thru options.

“We’re providing all fresh-to-order food,” he said. “We’re going to be doing beef tallow oil, which is going to be a really big thing.”

The menu will feature signature burgers like the Olive Burger, “Halo”peno Burger and Mushroom Swiss, alongside classics like single and double cheeseburgers. They’ll also serve traditional shakes and the Boston Cooler—a Michigan favorite made with ice cream and ginger ale.

For DiNello, who’s originally from Clinton Township, the new location is personal.

“For me this is like coming home,” he said. “In our opinion, we’re the last fast food chain that’s Michigan-branded and Michigan-founded, so we’re just excited to expand and give it that retro look.”

While an exact opening date hasn’t been set, DiNello hopes to welcome customers by the end of June as he begins staffing the fast-casual restaurant.

Other Halo Burger locations include Flint, Burton, Grand Blanc and Fenton.
