A new bar and restaurant under the name Northgrille Bar is coming to Novi early next year.
Conversations on social media have been ongoing about the newest restaurant coming to the suburb. Co-owner Glenn Kaplan confirmed the address will be at 21420 Novi Road. This will be opening in January or February of 2026.
The restaurant will be taking the place of the former Border Cantina, the Tex-Mex restaurant that was well-known in the area. It follows the retirement of the owners after operating for 32 years. According to Kaplan, he and co-owner Mike Richardson, who also owns Benstein Grille, just closed a deal to acquire the space.
Kaplan and Richardson opened Benstein Grille in 2015 in Charter Township. It is a 200-seat restaurant, and they created the restaurant after coming from other jobs like managing the Brio Tuscan Grille in Partridge Creek. This would mark the second project for the two business owners.
“The new restaurant will have a similar vibe and menu to Bernstein Grill,” Kaplan told What Now Detroit. He addd the space will have a private area for events like showers, birthdays and meetings.
The menu will have steaks, fish, pasta, salads and appetizers. For drinks there will be a selection of bourbons, tequilas and wines. It will be near other restaurants along Novi Road including Jet’s Pizza and Brava Empanadas.
Kaplan said the name Northgrille Bar may change. There is not an official social media for the business, but new information will be released in the coming months.
